Site and Study Permissions
Access roles in Ripple control user permissions and help protect participant privacy. Roles are managed at both the Site and Study levels, with each level defining different access rights. This article summarizes how roles work and where they can be managed.
What is the difference between Site Permissions and Study Permissions in Ripple?
- Site Permissions control a user’s access to site-wide features, such as the Registry and the Site Admin tab. Each user can only have one level of Site Permission.
- Study Permissions, on the other hand, control access to study-specific data and functions. Users can have different permission levels for different studies, allowing for flexible access depending on their role in each study. Study Permissions are where Read-Only access is applied.
Note:
-
Site Admins can enroll new users, lock and unlock user accounts, and manage both site-level and study-level permissions. More information found in this article Managing Users.
-
Site Managers can update study-level permissions for the studies they have access to.
