Product Update Version 2.0.38
Planned Release Date: September 10, 2025
New READ ONLY User (RI-6280, RI-6369, FR-361)
We’ve added a brand-new study-level permission for Read Only users
With this permission, users can view complete participant cards, but are unable to make any changes to data in the study.
This is especially useful for labs that want to provide broader visibility to certain team members (such as auditors, trainees, or stakeholders) while ensuring that study data remains protected and unchanged. It’s a balance of transparency and security that many of you have asked for—and we’re thrilled to bring it into Ripple.
Import Value Normalization (RI-6487)
Previously, single/multi CV imports required users to manually provide normalized values (lowercase, spaces replaced with “_”). If values were not normalized, imports could fail. Now, the system automatically normalizes values during import, ensuring variables are matched correctly regardless of formatting (e.g., EiFfEl ToWeR, eiffel tower, or Eifel Tower will all be recognized as Eiffel Tower). This makes imports more resilient and user-friendly.
Bug Fix: Importing Study Definitions (RI-6504)
Resolved an issue where study imports could fail if a logic statement configured within the study attempted to set a string field to a numeric value. This fix improves the resiliency of study imports.
Bug Fix: Birthdate Merge Tag in Templates and URL Parameters (RI-6503)
Resolved an issue where participant birth dates were not passing correctly into text or email templates. Birth dates now populate reliably when dynamically inserted into templates or embedded in survey URL parameters.
Big Fix: getChoiceText Survey Function (RI-6489)
Fixed an issue where the getChoiceText() survey function appeared to work even when the associated question was not included in the survey. The function now correctly performs error validation, ensuring formulas behave as expected.
Bug Fix: Large Imports Performance (RI-6479)
Resolved an issue where large import files (typically over 100 participants) would fail, requiring users to split them into smaller segments. Imports with hundreds of participants and multiple variables now process successfully, with significantly improved performance. Processing speed may still vary based on file size and complexity.
Bug Fix: New Survey Creator – Radio Group Options (RI-6436)
Fixed an issue in the new Survey Creator where an extra “ID” value appeared as an option when adding radio group questions. Survey options now display correctly.
Bug Fix: Broken Support Links in App
Fixed an issue where footer links on the Ripple login screen were broken. They now direct users to the correct external resources.
